WHAT THE BURSARY DOES
The Amos Bursary is a non-profit origination dedicated to helping boys through University
Boys are selects at the age of 16 (First year 6th Form) and they stay with us for the duration of their University experience. Throughout the 4 ½ years they participate in an intensive programme of personal and professional development. We make sure they are prepared to tackle with determination the challenges that will come their way. We teach them how to be flexible in their thinking and approach to work, how to face the unknown with confidence and enthusiasm, and provide them with the best social and ‘people’ skills to survive and thrive in their adult lives.
HOW WE DO IT
The most crucial and unique element of The Amos Bursary programme is our focus on individual attention for each student. Support is provided to our boys through mentorship schemes. This is in the form of access to their personal peer and professional mentors who are volunteers and come from a range of disciplines and backgrounds. They also receive an annual grant of £500.00 while at university unless they secure scholarships. Preparation is paramount and The Amos Bursary boys are required to attend workshops, meetings and seminars. Everything at The Amos Bursary is done to encourage and inspire in a positive and fun atmosphere.
